Privacy Policy for Auto-Duck in Real Time
Last updated: March 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Auto-Duck in Real Time software application ("Application") created by Wojciech Bazyli Warpechowski. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This document explains what limited technical information is processed, how it is used, and how it is protected, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The core principle of this Application is that it is not designed to track you for advertising or profiling purposes and does not intentionally collect directly identifying personal data beyond limited technical data required for internet communication, diagnostics, security, and product operation.
1. Data Controller
For the purposes of the GDPR, the Data Controller for any personal data (e.g., IP addresses) collected during communication with our servers is:
Wojciech Bazyli Warpechowski
Based in: Poland
Email: info@auto-duck.com
2. Microphone and Audio Devices Access
The Application requires access to your audio devices (e.g., microphones and audio outputs) to function properly.
- Purpose: This access is used strictly for the real-time, local measurement of sound levels and automatic volume control (ducking).
- No Recording or Transmission: The Application does not record, save, upload, or transmit any audio data or voice inputs to our servers or any cloud services.
- No Voice Recognition: We do not use any external Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) or third-party voice processing services. All audio processing is done 100% locally on your device.
3. Information Sent to Our Servers & Legal Basis (GDPR)
The Application communicates with our server (auto-duck.com) for specific technical and analytical purposes.
- Pseudonymized Identifier: When the Application connects to our server, the IP address is briefly visible as part of standard internet communication. In our own telemetry and crash logs, we immediately replace it with a pseudonymous identifier created using HMAC-SHA256 and do not keep the raw IP address there.
- Usage Statistics (Heartbeats): The Application periodically sends technical events to our server to help us generate aggregated statistics about active Application usage. In our own logs, these events are linked only to a pseudonymous identifier, not to the raw IP address.
- Crash Reports: To help us diagnose issues and improve the Application, it may automatically send crash reports. These reports contain technical data, including the error stack trace, exception messages, and the Application version. Please note: Occasionally, an exception message might inadvertently include local file paths (which could contain your Windows username). We use this data strictly for debugging and stability improvement purposes and never to directly identify you. In our own logs, crash reports are linked only to the pseudonymous identifier described above.
- Promotions and Purchase Links: The Application connects to our server to retrieve promotional offers and handle purchase links.
- Server Access Logs: Separately from our own application telemetry logs, our hosting provider maintains standard web server access logs, which may include IP addresses. These logs are used exclusively for server security, abuse prevention, and network troubleshooting.
Legal Basis for Processing: Under Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, we process this data based on our legitimate interest in ensuring the security of our services, preventing abuse, diagnosing failures, and analyzing generalized usage trends to improve the product.
4. Locally Stored Data (Licenses, Settings, and Projects)
- License Information: If you load a license file into the Application, it will read your user identifier (e-mail address) solely to verify your license and display your registration status within the app's interface. This e-mail address is stored exclusively on your local device and is never transmitted to our servers or anywhere else. Because this data never leaves your device, we do not collect or process it on our end.
- Configuration: Your settings, project files, and trial/license status are saved locally on your machine (in local files and/or the Windows Registry). We do not have access to this data.
5. System Clipboard Usage
At your explicit request (e.g., clicking a specific button), the Application may copy promotional codes to your system clipboard. The Application only writes to the clipboard and does not read or monitor the clipboard's contents from other programs.
6. Data Retention
We handle data retention based on the type of information collected:
- Application Telemetry Logs (Heartbeats & Crashes): Our own telemetry logs, including heartbeat usage statistics and crash reports, store only a pseudonymous identifier, together with the technical data reasonably needed for analytics, stability improvement, and abuse prevention. We do not store the raw IP address in these logs. We keep these logs only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
- Server Access Logs: Standard web server access logs containing IP addresses are maintained by our hosting provider for up to 4 months strictly for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. After this period, these logs are deleted or anonymized in accordance with the hosting provider's retention practices.
7. Third-Party Analytics and Data Sharing
We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or telemetry tools (such as Google Analytics, Sentry, AppCenter, etc.). All crash reporting and usage statistics are handled exclusively by our own, self-hosted solutions. We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers or other third parties. However, as part of providing the service infrastructure, our hosting provider (based in Poland) may process standard server access logs described above. Our servers are located within the European Union (EU).
8. Your Data Protection Rights under GDPR
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights regarding the limited data (e.g., IP address) we process:
- The right to access, rectify, or erase the information we have on you, where applicable.
- The right of restriction and objection: You have the right to object to our processing or request that we restrict the processing of your personal data.
- The right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to complain to a Data Protection Authority about our collection and use of your personal data. For more information, please contact your local data protection authority in the European Economic Area (EEA). In Poland, the supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO).
Because our own application logs use pseudonymous technical identifiers rather than direct identity information, we may not be able to associate a particular log record with a specific person unless you provide additional information that allows us to identify the relevant record.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@auto-duck.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Application is a general audience product and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect directly identifying personal information from children. Any limited technical and telemetry data processed for security and application stability is strictly pseudonymized and collected without knowledge of the user's age.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
